 Johne's Disease is a contagious and chronic disease of ruminants caused by the bacterium ''Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis''. Affected species include cattle, sheep, goats and camelids. The disease is present worldwide with the highest prevalence occurring in dairy cattle.
