- In young horses, tends to regress in older horses

- Stertorous inspiration and/or expiration
- Grossly:
- White foci, variable in size on dorsolateral pharynx, extending to openings of guttural pouches and onto soft palate
- Microscopically:
- Hyperplasia of lymphoid cells within the nodules
