Rabbit Nematodes

There are several nematodes that can be found in the gastrointestinal tract. The most important are:

Passalurus ambiguus Graphidium strigosum Trichostrongylus retortaeformis Strongyloides papillosus Trichuris leporis Capillaria hepática Protostrongylus spp

The importance of those parasites differs with the type of production of this animal. In intensive production, it has low importance, due to it's controled environment and food, and controled contact with other animals. On the other hand, in wildlife rabbits, this may be an issue, and can have importance as it may infect other animal species.
