The family Alloherpesviridae contains three genera:- (1) cyprinivirus: the herpesviruses of cyprinid fishes (carp family), types 1-3, and anguillid herpesvirus 1 (eel family). (2) ictalurivirus: ictalurid herpesvirus type 1 (the virus of channel catfishes). (3) salmonivirus: herpesviruses of the salmon family, types 1-3.
