Davainea Species - Tapeworms of Poultry

  • A tiny (approximately 3mm) tapeworm with only 4-9segments.
  • Has hooks around the suckers as well as on the rostellum.
  • Uses molluscan intermediate hosts.
  • Causes haemorrhagic enteritis in poultry and pigeons.
