Content

WikiVet authors, reviewers, editors, and publisher have made extensive efforts to ensure that all information is accurate at the time of publication. However, all content on WikiVet is created and is editable by registered users. Whilst we endeavour to maintain the accuracy of all content, no responsibility can be taken by WikiVet, or any of its contributors or reviewers for any incorrect content or any damages caused as a result of incorrect information.

In addition to this, constant changes in information resulting from continuing research and clinical experience, reasonable differences in opinions among authorities, unique aspects of individual clinical situations, and the possibility of human error in preparing such an extensive text require that the reader exercise individual judgment when making a clinical decision and, if necessary, consult and compare information from other sources. In particular, the reader is advised to check the product information currently provided by the manufacturer of any drug products before prescribing or administering it, especially if the drug is unfamiliar or is used infrequently.

Contributions

If you wish to contribute to WikiVet content or make changes to existing content, please do so responsibly and having fully researched any contributions. Ensure that any media added to the site adheres to any copyright restrictions and is fully acknowledged as per these restrictions.

Content Licences

All users contributing to Wikimedia projects are required to grant broad permissions to the general public to re-distribute and re-use their contributions freely, as long as the use is attributed and the same freedom to re-use and re-distribute applies to any derivative works. Therefore, for any text you hold the copyright to, by submitting it, you agree to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 License. For compatibility reasons, you are also required to license it under the GNU Free Documentation License (unversioned, with no invariant sections, front-cover texts, or back-cover texts). Re-users can choose the license(s) they wish to comply with. Please note that these licenses do allow commercial uses of your contributions, as long as such uses are compliant with the terms.

Importing text

You can re-use content from Wikimedia projects freely, with the exception of content that is used under "fair use" exemptions, or similar exemptions of copyright law. Please follow the guidelines below:

Re-use of text:

User Information

Use of Information

Information gathered during the registration process is used to help validate requests and allows for a greater understanding of the WikiVet community
Contact information supplied will only be used:
- If the user has opted into WikiVet updates
- Users in some instances be contacted if there is pertinent information regarding access to the site or regarding their user account
Some information (if users choosers) is automatically placed on the user's page (see below), but can be freely removed/modified by the user
At any time users can request to have their accounts deactivated and their personal information removed

User Pages (Automatic Population)

Unless the user opts out, on account creation a user page will be created automatically be populated with limited information from your registration form. This aims to enhance the WikiVet community and is encouraged, especially for contributors, but is not required for participation on the site. Users that opt out will have their page populated with a blank template, which they may complete if they wish.

This information can be deleted, added to and updated at any point by the user
- There is no requirement to provide information on the wiki
Information automatically included varies:
- For veterinarians and veterinary students: Full name, veterinary school & graduation year
  - If indicated during application users will be added to their schools graduate list
- For veterinary nurses and student nurses: Full name, place of training & year of qualifying
- For other non-vets: Full name & job title
Advice on how to update, add or remove content from these pages is made easily available
- Via the help pages or directly from the user's page
