  • Only in carnivores
  • Duct opens in vestibule on mucosal ridge by 4 or 5 orifices
  • Innervated by glossopharyngeal nerve (CN IX) via trigeminal branch (CN V)

  • Mainly mucosal cells (lighter stain)
