Description

Caeco-caecal intusssception results from uncoordinated peristalsis forcing part of the caecum to invaginate into itself. It is a fairy rare cause of caecal obstruction in the horse and represents only a small proportion of colic cases.

Signalment

Predisposing factors include caecal abscesses, motility affecting drugs and parasites.
