The Asian pipe snakes are a subfamily of Uropeltidae. They are small burrowing snakes distinguished from shield-tailed snakes (Uropeltinae) by the presence of a pelvic girdle and from South American pipe snakes (Aniliidae) by lacking teeth on the maxilla. Unlike both the previous taxa they have a normal spectacle. Genera include Anomochilus and Cylindrophis.
