General Structure

  • Mammary glands consolidated in a small udder in the inguinal region.
  • Mammary groove separates right and left halves.
    • Each half has the form of a laterally compressed cone and carries a single teat.
    • Each half comprises a single mammary complex.
  • Two duct systems open on the tip of the teat separately.







Appearance

  • Skin over the udder:
    • Thin
    • Deeply pigmented
    • Sparse hair
  • Teats are short, resemble a bilaterally compressed cylinder.
