  • Caused by Sporothrix schenckii
  • Cutaneous, may involve lymhatic vessels or disseminate
  • Occurs in horses, cattle, cats and dogs
  • Grossly:
    • Ulcerated cutaneous nodules
    • Fistulas may form
  • Microscopically:
    • Hard to find ovoid to elongated organisms
    • More numerous in cats
  • Exudate may be infectious to humans if comes into contact with wounds
