Herpes virus infections
- includes
- Equine Viral Rhinopneumonitis
- Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis
- Feline Viral Rhinopneumonitis
- Aujesky's disease in pigs
- in addition to their effects on adults, these viruses cause abortion with characteristic pinpoint foci of necrosis in the foetal liver
NB: Look for the intranuclear inclusions in surrounding surviving hepatocytes
