- Reproductive tract anatomy of both sexes is similar to that of the Mouse,Rat,Hamster and Gerbil.
Male
- Testes descend into the scrotum in January and begin spermatogenesis.
Female
- Seasonally polyoestrous* Spontaneous ovulators
- Breeding season March-September
- Oestrus lasts three days
- Advertises willingness to mate with persistent chipping noise on the second day.
