- Common in human, effective for laboratory mice.
- Sperm need not be capacitated, they can be epididymal,testicular or even a spermatid.
- Only requirement is genes and cytoplasm
- Even dead freeze-dried sperm have been effective in mice.
- Abnormalities are frequent.
