About me
I work for the Higher Education Academy Subject Centre for Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine which is based within the School of Medical Education Development at Newcastle University. My role as Education Advisor covers all three subjects - but mostly Veterinary education and development.
What I hope to get out of this project
When writing the original bid for 'vetschools', the WikiVet project looked like the perfect springboard from which to launch the idea of creating and sharing resources amongst all of the UK Veterinary Schools. I am hoping this project will motivate all participants (and vet schools) to continue their successful collaboration.
My best learning experience
My degree was taken with the Open University as I returned to Education as an adult (hence my interest in widening participation). A year into my course I undertook a 'Learning Styles Questionnaire' (Honey & Mumford) and it was the most useful tool I've ever used. Discovering that I was a 'Reflector', made a lot of sense and allowed me to tailor my learning to my own natural style.
Interests
It all interests me, if it benefits the Veterinary Education constituency :)
