Pressure applied to the eyes of some species of reptiles results in a decrease in heart rate and blood pressure with a resultant state of calmness. This is a very useful non-chemical means of restraint particularly in iguanid species. However it is not useful in snakes. [[Category:Lizard_and_Snake_Glossary]]
