  • Affects the horse.
  • Sudden onset with haemorrhages throughout body (shock) and sometimes acute foul smelling diarhoea.
  • colon is acutely haemorhagic and oedematous with mucosal necrosis.
  • Associated with Clostridium perfringens.
  • Possibly an enterotoxaemia.
