- Secondary trauma is self-inflicted
- Grossly:
- Papular dermatitis
- Secondary excoriations
- Alopecic nodule if chronic
- Microscopically:
- Hyperplastic superficial perivascular dermatitis
- Oedema, mast cells, basophils, eosinophils, lymphocytes, histiocytes
- Fibropruritic nodules covered by hyperplastic epidermis
