- Occurs in cats and dogs mainly
- Irritation caused by enzymes, anticoagulants and histamine-like substances
- Hypersensitivity to flea saliva may develop
- Young or small animals may suffer from aneamia
- Lesions normally in dorsolumbosacral region, caudomedial thighs, ventral abdomen, flank, neck (cats)
