NOTE: the most pathogenic worms in the lungs of ruminants and equines belong to the genus ''Dictyocaulus''. These look like typical metastrongyloid lungworms, but molecular studies have confirmed that they are related to the Trichostrongyloidea (a case of convergent evolution).
