Infectious Agents

Welcome to the Infectious Agents and Parasites section of WikiVet. In this section we deal with infectious agents; these are microorganisms that invade and multiply in body tissues and can result in cellular injury, toxin release or antigen-antibody response. Parasites are also discussed; these are organisms that require another organism to live upon or within to survive. This is often detrimental to the host organism and can result in disease.

Basic Concepts of Microbiology (this should link to the overview page that gives information on B, F and V (and poss P should be added) with links to specific pages within the sections below as appropriate.

Bacteria (this needs to link both to the list of organisms and also to the other pages in this section ie cell structure, lab diagnosis etc. The list of organisms need to be referred to as a list of organisms rather than simply Bacteria to direct the user accurately.)

Viruses
