==Biography==
 
Kate joined The [[RVC|Royal Veterinary College]] as an undergraduate having already completed a biochemistry BSc at Queen Mary and Westfield College, London. After graduation from the RVC in 1999 Kate worked at the Battersea Dogs and Cats home, and a mixed practice in Bishops Stortford before returning to the RVC in 2001 as a Senior Clinical Training Scholar in Veterinary Clinical Pathology.
 
  
Following this Kate worked at IDEXX laboratories in Wetherby as a Veterinary Clinical Pathologist for two years before returning to the RVC again as Lecturer in Veterinary Clinical Pathology in 2006.

==Research==
 
Kate has had an interest in respiratory fungal diseases with past research on [[Pneumocystis_carinii|Pneumocystis]].  Kate is currently looking at novel diagnostic methods for [[Aspergillus_spp|Aspergillus]].  Kate also works with a number of other teams at the RVC providing clinical pathology support, including [http://www.rvc.ac.uk/VEctAR/ VECTAR] and looking for risk factors for canine cancer.
 
 
==Teaching at the RVC==
 
Kate teaches on the undergraduate BVetMed and postgraduate MVetMed courses at the RVC, primarily covering the wide range of clinical pathology topics.  Kate teaches a clinical pathology session on the Equine Elective course.
