BVSc: It is a full-time five-year degree programme. “A’ level passes in Biology & Chemistry is compulsory plus at least one other science subject (Mathematics and/or Physics) and a point system is used. ‘O’ level English Language and Mathematics are also a requirement.

DVN: It is a full-time two-year degree programme and the entry requirements are 5 “O” level passes inclusive of Mathematics, Biology & English Language

MSc/MVSc/MPhil/DPhil: For the Masters Degree programmes, it is 2 years and 3 years for full-time and part-time students, respectively and first degree with a 2.1 or better in the relevant area of study is a requirement. For the DPhil programme, it is 4 years for full-time and 8 years for part-time students and a Masters degree is a requirement.

REGULATIONS FOR BVSc

It is governed by the General Academic Regulations for undergraduate programmes of the University of Zimbabwe and Faculty regulations. The courses are not semesterised. Candidates must pass every course in a part before proceeding to the next level. A student who fails a course may be allowed to sit for supplementary examinations. A compulsory certified 3-month extra-mural practical at a veterinary establishment for every student as from Year 3 is required.
