This is a developmental condition of the elbow which may cause pain or may be silent. Breeds most affected are the English Springer Spaniel, Cocker Spaniel and Labrador. The lameness may be low grade but the distal humeral condyle is predisposed to fracture which is evident by a sudden detrioration to a severe lameness, perhaps without a history of trauma.
