Peritoneal

  • Lipomas - horses
    • Arise from mesentery (particularly in horses), omentum (in dogs)
    • Can become large and pedunculated (horses)
    • May lead to strangulation of intestine
    • On cut surface may become friable and necrotic with only the superficial surface remaining viable
