Lesion development:
- Due to viral invasion of epithelium
- Vascular injury -> ischaemic necrosis
- Stimulation of host DNA -> hyperplastic nodules
Cutaneous lesions:
- Macule -> papule -> vesicle -> umbilicated pustule -> crust -> scar
