Loxocemidae

The family Loxocemidae consists of a single monotypic genus, Loxocemus. The Mexican burrowing python (L. bicolor) is distributed in southern Mexico and Central America. It has a pelvic girdle, is semi-burrowing and nocturnal, feeds on egg and young reptiles and is oviparous.
