The western rattlesnake (Crotalus viridis) is one of the most aggressive rattlesnakes and is found in much of western USA, northern Mexico and southwestern Canada. Morphology is very variable but there is often two diagonal stripes on the head, above and below the eye. They are mainly crepuscular and are viviparous.
