Epicrates

Epicrates are true boas (subfamily Boinae, family Boidae) and are distributed in the West Indies and South America. There are ten species including rainbow boas (E. cenchria). Some species have heat-sensitive pits in the lower labial scales as well as in the upper labials while others have none.
