Up to the late 1980's, Bombay Veterinary College was facing serious difficulties in imparting applied training in the field of Animal Husbandry as it lacked a farm of its own. To overcome this handicap a unit has been established at Aarey Colony, where cattle, sheep, goats and poultry in a limited number are maintained. | |History=In the initial stages, the college had three-year diploma course (G.B.V.C.) in veterinary Science after matriculation.
