The University of Tabriz [http://veterinary.tabrizu.ac.ir/en/index.htm Faculty of Veterinary Medicine] is a national university in Tabriz, East Azarbayjan and the second veterinary collage in east of Iran and first veterinary collage in east Azarbayjan state of this country. It is one of the five high-ranked universities in Iran and one of the ten most selective universities in country.

Also this University has the second largest campus area in country which is the biggest academic institution in northwest of country and has a local and regional leadership through application of national and international quality standards too .

Faculty of Veterinary Medicine was  founded in 1987 and started its function  in 1988. at the begining the faculty just has five assistant professors and has a bachelor's of Veterinary Laboratory science as a level of study but in 2005 the University started to get students for DVM Degree, in 2012 the University expanded it's educational level by getting student in Master of sciences in veterinary Parasitology and Veterinary Histology and Bachelor's of meat inspection and hygiene
