Toxoplasmosis is the disease caused by ''Toxoplasma gondii'',  a protozoan parasite. ''T. gondii'' can infect all mammals including man and is a significant cause of abortion in sheep and goats. Toxoplasmosis does not seem to cause disease in cattle.
