- Affects the horse.
- Sudden onset with haemorrhages throughout body (shock) and sometimes acute foul smelling diarhoea.
- colon is acutely haemorhagic and oedematous with mucosal necrosis.
- Associated with Clostridium perfringens.
- Possibly an enterotoxaemia.
