- Cerebellar hypoplasia may be:
- Inherited
- This aetiology is suspected in:
- Arab foals
- Jersey cattle
- Chows
- Corriedale sheep.
- This aetiology is suspected in:
- Environmental
- Teratogens selectively attack mitotic germinal cells of the cerebellum.

- Inherited
