Iridoviridae

Iridoviridae: a family of DNA viruses which comprises three genera:-

  1. Lymphocystivirus contains lymphocystis disease virus 1 (a disease of fish)
  2. Megalocytivirus contains the virus of infectious spleen and kidney necrosis of fish
  3. Ranavirus contains epizootic haematopoietic necrosis virus (in Percidae and Salmonidae), European catfish virus, largemouth bass virus, and a number of viruses of amphibians and reptiles (such as Bohle frog virus abd frog virus 3)
