The University of Tabriz's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is a national university in Tabriz, East Azarbayjan and the second veterinary collage in east of Iran and first veterinary collage in east Azarbayjan state of this country. It is one of the five high-ranked universities in Iran and one of the ten most selective universities in country. Also this University has the second largest campus area in country which is the biggest academic institution in northwest of country and has a local and regional leadership through application of national and international quality standards too .

About Us

Faculty of Veterinary Medicine was founded in 1987 and started its function in 1988. at the begining the faculty just has a bachelor's of Veterinary Laboratory science as a level of study but in 2005 the University started to get students for DVM Degree, in 2012 the University expanded it's educational level by getting student in Master of sciences in veterinary Parasitology and Veterinary Histology and Bachelor's of meat inspection and hygiene

Education

There are four levels for study in this faculty DVM ( Doctor of Veterinary Medicine ), Bachelor’s of Veterinary Laboratory Sciences and Bachelor\'s of meat inspection and hygiene ,Master of sciences in veterinary parasitology and master of sciences in veterinary histology, Holding a degree of Veterinary Technician is necessary for gaining admission to Veterinary medicine Laboratory Sciences and students are qualified through the National Entrance Examination held annually by the Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology. In this course of study, students graduate by passing 73 credits in BSc of Veterinary medicine Laboratory sciences . DVM students graduate having passed 230 credits in eight areas including basic sciences, Pathobiology, food hygiene, animal nutrition and husbandary , genetics, fish hygiene and diseases, and clinical science.

the University Veterinary Hospital constructed in 2008 and started it's work in 2011 Faculty of veterinary medicine is equipped with 15 Labs, 3 specific halls and a research and teaching veterinary hospital till now . Information is as follow:

Veterinary hospital of the faculty has some different sections like Large animal internal medicine , Troigenology, Surgery , Poultry diseases, Small animal internal medicine,Radiology and Sonography ,Animal nutrition,Clinical pathology. there are two completely equiped classrooms for intern\'s rounds and seminars and routin courses.
