  • Synonyms: congenital adenomatoid malformation, adenomatoid hamartoma
  • Grossly:
    • Some lung lobes are replaced by spongy or cystic tissue
  • Histologically:
    • Hypoplastic bronchi, no cartilage and no smooth muscle in their walls
    • May contain normal alveoli
  • May cause congenital lobar emphysema (below)
