Kate Cheeseman - 40,000th Registered WikiVet User

As promised the lucky 40,000th member to register with WikiVet has been awarded a prize. Kate Cheeseman is a final-year veterinary student at the University of Edinburgh Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies who grew up in the small state of Vermont, in the northeastern US. Kate attended university in the US, where she majored in biochemistry then worked in clinical research and science writing fields for several years before deciding to pursue veterinary medicine. She moved to Scotland in 2009, and worked there for a couple of years, married her husband Gareth, and then started at the Dick Vet in 2011 in their graduate entry program. She has found this program very welcoming and met lots of great people from a broad range of backgrounds. She's now in her final year, and just last week passed her final exams and North American licensing exams -- which, incidentally, is how she ended up registering for WikiVet -- finding it a great tool while studying for finals! Kate will be looking for a job in farm or mixed practice once she graduates in July. In her free time, she loves going walking in the Pentland Hills - right next to the vet school campus - and, when possible, getting back to New England to visit her family and (old) England to visit Gareth's family!
