* Large offspring may pccur naturally, but is more common with [[Artificial Insemination - Anatomy & Physiology|Artificial Insemination]] with the semen of a large breed into a small dam.
* Passage of the foetus through the birth canal is restricted. The oversized foetus presents three barriers to delivery:

** Shoulders
