**From gonadal stroma - granulosa, thecal or luteal cell tumours.
Granulosa cell tumour is the most common seen especially in the mare and cow. Usually unilateral and benign (except in dog)and can be very large. Characterised by encapsulated, nodular white grey surface, multi cystic +/- haemorrhage.
They often secrete oestrogen/progesterone/testosterone causing behavioural changes, persistent oestrus nymphomania or masculinisation (mare and cow).
**Germ cell origin - e.g. teratoma, dysgerminoma.
**Cyst adenoma/adenocarcinoma - seen in elderly bitches appearing as pale nodular and cauliflower-like. Transcoelomic spread if malignant. May present with ascites.
*Secondary: e.g. mammary, uterine, adrenal cortical carcinoma, lymphosarcoma.
