The Ontario Veterinary College is the oldest veterinary school in North America. It was established in Toronto in 1862, by the Scotsman Andrew Smith- a graduate of the Royal School of Veterinary Studies, Edinburgh. The college later moved to Guelph, Ontario in 1922 and became a founding college of the University of Guelph in 1964.
