*Pathogenicity and clinical signs:

**Pink, lactose-fermenting colonies on MacConkey agar
*Treatment and control:
**Bacteria usually susceptible to ampicillin, carbenicillin, potentiated sulphonamides and tetracyclines
**Disinfect contaminated pens
*Other animals:
**Septicaemia and pneumonia in foals
**Pneumonia in pigs and horses
