Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine was established in 1905. Originally it was simply known as "the Department of Veterinary Medicine", but became the "Division of Veterinary Medicine" after splitting from the School of Agriculture in 1919. In 1943 the title was changed to school, and in 1963 was declared a college upon the changing of Kansas State College to Kansas State University.
