It seems to be similar to e.g. [[Akabane Virus|Akabane]] and Shamonda viruses. These are vector transmitted, such as by [[midges]], [[mosquitoes]] and [[ticks]]. At this point it is unclear whether there is a potential for direct contact transmission.
