RUSVM is accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Council on Education and the St. Christopher & Nevis Accreditation Board. Graduates are eligible to practice veterinary medicine in all United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico and as graduates of an AVMA accredited foreign school are not required to take foreign licensure examinations.

The degree Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) is awarded upon the successful completion of the Pre-Clinical Curriculum and the Clinical Training Curriculum.
