The Veterinary Medicine course develops educational activities for the population , with the goal of creating the pet owners awareness of social responsibility and citizenship. From the earliest periods of the course students have the opportunity to interact with the population and enhance its role as a health agent .
Provide the community with the adjacent neighborhoods veterinary service orientation and neutering of dogs and cats , allowing a wider knowledge of the species and greater control in the reproduction thereof; enable users to program the space for discussion and reflection on the exercise of citizenship as an instrument emancipatory action, insert the veterinarian as a social worker , meeting the demands of a globalized world ; Guiding undergraduate veterinary Medicine , within the different areas of the profession , as its social responsibility as a health agent .
Through neutering of dogs and cats , promotes control over the reproduction of the species ; promotes space community orientation on veterinary procedures that allow an improvement in the quality of life of animals , and develop opportunities for discussion and reflection on the effectiveness of different public policy as a means of increasing community participation in the control of animal reproduction .
