In female donkeys presenting with signs of abdominal pain, a rectal examination is indicated to assess the condition of the ovaries. ovaries up to 20 cm in diameter due to abnormalities. In some cases external flank drainage of the ovary may be useful to temporarily alleviate the discomfort.
