Hypothermia in reptiles can lead to cellular necrosis (of [[Lizard Skin Diseases|digits and tail]] for example) and should be taken seriously. Metabolic processes are slowed (ie. CNS) and consequences can be degenerative changes within the peripheral nerves and ischaemia as a result of vasoconstriction.
