The Malayan pit viper (''Enhydris plumbea'') is found in southeastern Asia and averages 70-80 cm in length. They have dark-brown angular patterns on a reddish-brown background. The female lays up to 30 eggs and incubates them until they hatch 40 days later. This type of maternal behaviour is unusual in vipers.[[Category:Lizard_and_Snake_Glossary]]
