*Poxvirus infections produce local infection of [[prickle cells]] in epithelium with proliferation of cells and formation of papule followed by ulceration / necrosis and covered by necrotic epithelium
*Eventually scabs form and crust drops off
*Scabs - very infectious ( N.B.if touch -> catch it)
